About
Regular consultant or employee like you! But have a little more interest to share some of my insights into Oracle Apps. I live in southern suburbs of New Jersey and love my really quiet early mornings. You are probably here because you share similar interest and passion in Oracle technologies like I do.
If you like my work here, please do drop a line or two either as a comment or a mail using contact form. It keeps me and this blog going and probably brings the best out of me.
Thanks for visiting!

Nagamohan,
I was wondering if you could help me with a couple of questions I have. BTW, your suggestion for striping the ORDERED_ITEM LOV was exceptional to say the least. So elegant.
Question 1: Costing Org defaulting to Item Master
When setting up a child Inv Org with Standard Costing, the Costing Organization under Organization Parameters >> Costing tab is defaulting to the Item Master. For correct Costing, I believe the Costing Org should be the Inv Org and not the Master Org. This is in 11.5.10.2. However, in our Test instance, the Costing Org defaults to the child Inv Org.
Question 2: Workaround to force user to use only specified Order Type when F11-ing in Order Orgahnizer
When querying (F11-ing) in Order Organizer, we need to have the Order Type field defaulting to a value so that users cannot select any other value. The reason is different orgs under the same OU have different Order Types & a user specific to an Inv Org would be forced to query only with the Order Type when F11-ing in Order Organizer.
25 June 2008, 8:58 pmThis requirement is only when querying because when entering a Sales Order, the correct Order Type defaults from a defaulting rule.

Just a quick question about Custom Folders functionality in EBS. Currently, when I create a folder with a specific value of a field in the Order Organizer form, the folder doesn’t save it.
Just wondering if this is possible or not.
Happy Canada Day!!!

Nagamohan,
Need some ideas/suggestions regarding Service Contracts Conversions
I will be working on Conversion of Legacy contract data to Oracle Service Contracts. Currently the Customer is using Vantive as legacy system for contracts and some other system for Install Base.
Please let me know the approach, recommendations and the Service Contracts APIs that have to be used to perform the Conversion Process. If you have any Conversion document around this process that would be of great help.
Please send me the Service Contracts & Install Base BR100 too.
Appreciate your quick response.

Guruji,
Very nice work.
At last I found your web site which I kept asking you, and you always told me, when time comes you will let me know.
There are two kind of people, one who dream about this kind of work (like me) and people who actually convert their dream into reality, like you, and that is what made the difference.
I know I have very little knowledge but any time if you like me to contribute any thing anywhere let me know and I will definitely and gladly do that.
Wishing you a very best of luck for your work.

Hi Nagamoham,
First of all, I say thanks to all your replies in forum. By refering your replies, I done lot of things in Install base.
29 October 2009, 1:10 amI need some more help from you. I posted the below questions in Forums.Nobody giving proper answers.I hope you will provide some help.
I am using the “csi_item_instance_pub.update_item_instance” API to update the
instance details. when i change the owner party and it’s contacts(transfer ownership), I am getting following errors.
1)Owner account for external parties is mandatory. Please provide a valid Account for the Owner Party – 1221238 for some instance.
Eventhough i verified the correct party id and it’s account id, it shows the same errror.
2)For some cases, I am getting the error like “The Object Version Number passed does not match with the one existing in Installed Base tables” .
I already done all changes which you gave solutions for the above questions in forum.
Thanks in advance.
Ravi.

Hi Naga,
We are doing a fresh implementation of oracle Email Center in R12.
The client is already using oracle 11i.
Do we have any seeded API’s to convert oracle email center emails and related info of emails from oracle 11i to R12.
Thanks,
Kumar.
